BAKER BOYS WIN USF
CAMP TOURNAMENT
The Bulldogs attended the USF Soccer Camp this past week and won the in house tournament. Earning the prestige title of "Best Team in Camp". It was a tough camp from start to finish, the boys were training from 7:30 am til 9:30 pm and the heat index never dropped below 104 degrees. There were teams and players from all around the country and the standard of play there was high! The Bulldogs played lights out in the Tournament and the final went to a penalty shoot out, Bulldog keeper Rush Manterola came up BIG with two huge saves to help win the tournament. "I am very proud of the boy's" said Coach Whitewood. "The way they represented themselves, the school and the Boys Bulldog Soccer Program, makes me very proud. I constantly got compliments from the coaches and Coach Kiefer himself about how polite and well manered the boys were, and then to go and win the tournament with such good competitve participation. Oh and beating Mariner in the semi final, HA! Well that just makes for a very saisfying camp!"
GOOD JOB BOYS WE ARE VERY PROUD OF YOU!!
Harvey Rincon

Soccer History

Harvey Rincon became the first Baker boys' soccer player to sign an NCAA Division I scholarship package when he accepted an offer from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn.
The four-year starter and three-year Bulldogs team captain scored 18 goals and had 38 assists over the last two seasons, was selected to an all-star team twice and named all-conference.
"Harvey is a leader in every sense of the word," said Bulldogs coach Mick Whitewood. "He leads by example on and off the pitch. He will be missed dearly."
Rincon landed an academic and athletic scholarship package worth nearly $50,000.
"It always has been my dream to play Division I soccer," said Rincon. "It was the only one (D-I) offered, but it has one of the top sports management programs in the country, plus the state is a nice area to live in."
The midfielder wants to prepare himself to play soccer professionally, perhaps overseas. If that does not happen, he said he will fall back on his education to become a player agent.
In an email statement, Quinnipiac coach Eric Da Costa said, "Harvey Rincon will be an excellent addition to the Quinnipiac family. Our program has shown tremendous growth in a short period of time and Harvey's leadership skills will help ensure our continued success.
In class 4A for Academics the Baker Bulldogs Boys Varsity Team scored a cumulative 3.249 GPA, they not only were getting it done on the pitch but they were also getting it done in the classroom.
They also finished 9th in the state. Awesome job!
WAY TO GO BOYS!
